As a youngster growing up in Tulsa, OK, my father would take me to barbershop shows. I grew up loving music and have been involved in some sort of music my entire life (church, choir, high school, community programs, solos for weddings and funerals, etc). I have been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1989 and sang with three choruses. I love the harmony and a grateful for the friendships I’ve made along the way.
The Society
The Barbershop Harmony Society, or the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA), was organized in 1938 to promote and preserve barbershop music as an art form. The society now promotes barbershop harmony among men of all ages.
